Introduction
I didn’t grow up dreaming about solar energy.
Right after high school, my brother and I had no real direction. Like many young people, we were trying to figure out what to do with our lives. We decided to enroll in electrical trade school simply because we knew skilled trades would always be in demand.
Once we graduated, the first company that hired us was SunPower, and that’s where everything changed.
Before Solar
Before entering the solar industry, my life looked very different.
During the day I sold **San Francisco 49ers merchandise at Levi's Stadium.
At other times I worked valet for employees at **Apple Inc. in Cupertino.
In the evenings, I taught kids how to swim.
I worked hard, but nothing felt like a real career.
Then solar came into my life.
Discovering Solar
Working at SunPower introduced me to something incredible.
Solar energy is one of the few technologies that can fundamentally change how people live.
Instead of paying for electricity forever, homeowners can produce their own energy.
That idea fascinated me.
Why I Started My Own Solar Company
After spending years installing solar systems, I noticed something troubling.
Too many homeowners had bad experiences with solar companies.
They would tell me stories like:
“The company disappeared.”
“No one answers the phone anymore.”
“Our system stopped working.”
Too many companies were focused on quick profits instead of long-term service.
That’s why I created Starlight Energy.
Our mission is simple:
Install solar systems and stand behind them for the long run.
Key Takeaway
Solar isn’t just about installing panels.
It’s about helping families gain energy independence.
And after more than a decade in the industry, I’ve installed thousands of systems and learned exactly how to do it right.
