Starlight Energy | Solar & Battery Installer Serving the Bay Area

Bay Area Solar & Battery Storage

Own your power before the next rate hike.

PG&E charges some of the highest electricity rates in the country. We design solar-plus-battery systems built for how California actually pays for power in 2026 — so more of the sun that hits your roof stays in your home.

Why the math changed

The three things every Bay Area homeowner should know in 2026

The rules shifted recently. We’d rather you hear it straight than find out after a sales pitch.

01

Rates are high, and delivery keeps climbing

PG&E’s average residential rate sits near the top nationally. Even when supply prices dip, delivery charges and the new fixed Base Services Charge keep monthly bills heavy — which is exactly what solar offsets.

02

Under NEM 3.0, a battery does the heavy lifting

California’s Net Billing Tariff pays very little for power you export to the grid. The value now comes from storing your own energy and using it in the expensive evening hours — so we design around self-use, not selling back.

03

The 30% federal credit has ended for purchases

The federal residential tax credit expired at the end of 2025 for cash and loan buyers. We build honest quotes around real 2026 pricing — and can walk you through lease and PPA options where a credit may still apply through the financier.
