Elias Rivero
Elias’s solar installation was completed at the end of 2025, allowing him to take full advantage of the 30% federal Residential Clean Energy Credit on his project before the incentive expired for homeowner‑owned systems after December 31, 2025. Because the system was fully installed and placed in service in time for the 2025 deadline, he was able to claim 30% of his eligible solar costs as a dollar‑for‑dollar credit on his federal tax return, significantly reducing his net out‑of‑pocket investment in going solar.

This accessory dwelling unit in Los Altos includes a dedicated rooftop solar PV system that was specifically sized and installed to meet California Title 24 energy code requirements for new ADU construction. As a newly built, detached unit, the ADU is subject to the state’s solar mandate, which requires enough on‑site generation to offset the unit’s modeled annual electricity use based on conditioned floor area and local climate zone. Our team coordinated with the project’s Title 24 energy consultant to match the system size shown on the compliance documentation, integrate the array into the permit set, and complete installation and inspections so the ADU could receive final sign‑off and a certificate of occupancy.
